When Austrian-born Marie Luise Antoniadou came to Poros for the first time, she was so smitten with the island that on the spur of the moment she bought a ramshackle 19th century neo-classical house. It needed a thorough restoration, but that was no problem for Marie Luise who is an architect by profession. Using old building materials (like antique floor tiles she found in Athens) and furnishing it with period pieces, she tastefully enhanced the original character of the house, while adding a fresh and contemporary touch with pastel colour schemes and pale wood floors in some of the rooms. Sto Roloï is split into two apartments and a small studio. Rented as self-catering units they offer privacy and great comfort, while there is no need to worry about chores either. There is a daily cleaning service; groceries can be delivered at (almost) any time, and one of the best local restaurants offers ‘room service’ for lunch and dinner.
