Τo Άkros Oreon είναι ένας μικρός παραδοσιακός ξενώνας κτισμένος απέναντι από το πευκόδασος της Κάτω Σύμης και περικλείεται από δασώδη ορεινή έκταση, αμφιθεατρικά, σε απόσταση 2 χλμ. από τον οικισμό. Τα πέτρινα καταλύματα είναι κτισμένα σε έναν παλιό αμπελώνα με θέα τις κορυφές της Δίκτης, τον Αφέντη, την Μαδάρα σε μια κατάφυτη από βλάστηση κοιλάδα, σε τοπίο με επιβλητική αγριότητα.

"Amazing place, strongly recommended"
We stayed at Akros Oreon for only one night, if we knew that it would be so nice we would certainly arrange for more.
The guest house is located in the pine forest with a great panoramic view to the mountain, the forest and the village of Kato Simi. The location is really great, peacefull away from the mass tourism, the noise etc
when you go to sleep the only things you can hear are the sounds of the nature, the wind...
the houses themselves are very nice, stone built, cosy and clean.
except the location the other really great thing there is the attitude of the onwers, you really feel like being invited to their house, Anna's cooking is just excellent wirh really fresh ingredients she cuts at the very moment from the garden! the meal she prepared was really one of the most delicious we have ever had.
the allowed the kids to cut strawberries from the garden, my little boy liked them so much he cut and ate them all up! Anna and Giorgos didnot say a thing on the contrary they encouraged him.. so ti was a very nice experience for a city boy to cut strawberries straight from the garden, wash them in the little river down the inn and eat them instead of going to the supermarket and buy them.
it may be some far from the main attractions usually mentionned in the guides but it really worths the detour hope we will be back one day
