When Eleni Antonopoulou and Stathis Triantafyllou built a stone house in the mountains of the Peleponnese their idea was to use it for weekends and have friends over. As it turned out, they enjoyed having guests so much that they eventually turned the house into a small hotel, without however giving it any of the typical hotel ‘looks’. They did the bedrooms and suites in an attractive country style with wood or stone-paved floors, bare stone walls, and traditional and antique furniture (plus a working fireplace in some rooms); each one is different. There is also a cosy living/dining room where weekenders enjoy home cooked meals and relax by the fire. Generally, Helydorea has a truly pleasant and welcoming feel to it, especially during the holiday periods and weekends, when Stathis and Eleni are there to personally welcome their guests.
