The building has it's origins at the dawn of the 16th Century and the architects followed the traditional architecture of the area. It is considered the most impressive stone building of the Malvasia Castle-city. The kellia hostel was an old monastery and here was born and raised the famous Greek poet Yannis Ritsos.
