Vovousa distances 5 klm from Aoos gorge, 5 klm from Valia Calda National park, 40 klm from Aoos lake, 45klm from Vasilitsa Ski Centre, 55klm from the city of Grevena (hospital), 50 klm from Metsovo, 230klm from Thessaloniki via Egnatia Autoroute and 70klm from the city of Ioannina and the airport.

Build on the two banks of the Aoos river, Vovousa (Baiesa), it is adorned at the center with one of the nicest one arched stone bridges of zagori and was built in 1748 by Aleksio Misio. Also worth seeing the 1816 church of Saint George and the traditional watermill.
