This longstanding building stands as a witness of Andros’ native history. Its story started in1860 as the first school of the area, continued as a silk-weaving school and in 1936 it acquired its first permission to operate as a hotel unit under the name Krinos, a name inspired by the scented lillies flourishing in the nearby beach. In the 1950’s, with the addition of the famous first restaurant of the area, the hotel became a unique place of attraction. Krinos operated successfully until 1988 and had paid host to some of the most influential personalities of Modern Greece and numerous intellectuals from all over the world.

An inspiring story
The sight of a derelict building with such a magnificent and historical past was the main inspiration behind the effort to revive its original function.
In 2007, an architect and an archaeologist, a couple in real life, decided to unite in business life as well and joined forces together with their love for the island, their creativity, and passion to inspire others, in order to bring this beautiful building back to life.
